Directions:
Clean out the turkey. Check cavities for veins and fat; pluck out any remaining feathers. Rinse it out with water and sponge dry. May do this the night before.

Place turkey into cooking pan. Put stuffing into abdominal and neck cavities. Sew up cavities. Dice up onion. Place diced onion, Lipton Onion Soup Mix, and garlic chips into pan on top and all around the turkey. Season the turkey with garlic salt, Lawry's Seasoned Salt and paprika.

Preheat oven at 325º, then place pan with turkey loosely covered with tin foil in oven for 2 1/2 hours. Remove foil and let it cook open for 45 minutes. Then start basting periodically with its own juices for an additional 1 1/2 hours.

Take turkey out of oven and let it cool for 1 hour before serving.
