1 cup shortening, softened
3 oz. cream cheese, softened
1 cup sugar
1 egg yolk
2 1/2 cup all-purpose flour, sifted
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 cup pecans, finely chopped

Directions:
Directions:
In a mixing bowl, work shortening and cream cheese into sugar, egg yolk, flour and vanilla. Add nuts (if desired). Drop or roll cookies onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 15 minutes at 375º.

I often made these for my Bridge Club in Monroe, Louisiana. I don't recall ever making these for my Bridge Club in Orange ... I must have forgotten about them!
