Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 box of Phylo dough, thawed
1 lb. walnuts or pecans, chopped fine
½ c. sugar
1 lb. butter, divided

Syrup:
1 c. honey
2 c. sugar
1 c. water

Directions:
Directions:
Open the phylo dough and cover with a moist dish towel so that dough will not dry out. Melt the pound of butter and then take a pastry brush and brush a layer of butter in the bottom of your 9x13 inch cake pan. Take 2 sheets of phylo dough and place in pan, butter, 2 more sheets, butter until you have done this 5 times. Then take your finely chopped nuts, toss with sugar and spread on top of your buttered layers of phylo dough to within ¼ " of the edges. Repeat the process of 2 sheets of phylo dough & butter until you have used up all the phylo dough. Put in the oven for 15 minutes at 375º. After 15 minutes, take it out of the oven, and cut it in triangles or squares. Cut just to the nut center, pour the remainder of the melted butter over the top of the baklava and put it back in the oven for 25 minutes or until golden brown. Take it out of the oven and immediately pour the syrup mixture all over it and then let it cool.

Syrup:
Bring the water, sugar and honey to a light boil, stirring occasionally until sugar is dissolved. Keep the syrup warm. Pour it gently over the hot baklava as soon as it comes out of the oven. The baklava will absorb all the liquid as it cools. When cool, you can finish cutting it through.
