1/2 lb. vanilla wafers processed into crumbs - set aside
1 1/4 C confectioners sugar
1/4 C real butter
2 beaten eggs
1/4 tsp. vanilla extract
1 pint strawberries cut into halves
1 Orange** - peeled and all membrane removed and cut into small pieces.

Line 10 inch pie pan with wafer crumbs (reserving 1/2 cup.) Cream sugar, butter and eggs. Pour on top of wafer crumbs. Combine orange pieces & strawberries. and layer them over the creamed mixture. Whip 1/2 pint of heavy cream and spread over fruit. Sprinkle reserved wafer crumbs over whipped cream. Refrigerate for at least 6 hours.
**Canned mandarin oranges (drained) can be cut up and used instead of orange.
