lb butter or margarine
cup shortening
3 cups sugar
5 eggs, one at a time
3 cups flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
1 sm 7-Up 6oz.

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350, grease and flour pan. Cream butter, shortening, sugar and salt; add eggs one at a time and vanilla. Add flour, a little at a time. Blend in 7-Up. Bake about 1 hour or until done.
Note: Cake may be served with or without frosting. CJ prefers it without.
Frosting:
2 Tbsp sugar
2 Tbsp butter
2 cups powdered sugar
cup water
1 tsp vanilla
Mix all ingredients and spoon over cooled cake.
