1 (18.2 oz) pkg chocolate cake mix, prepared
1 (8oz) pkg cream cheese, softened
1 large egg
2 tbsp sugar
48 mini Oreo bite size chocolate sandwich cookies
1 1/2 cups frozen whipped topping, thawed

Preheat oven to 350º. Line 24 cupcake tins with paper or foil muffin cups. Prepare cake batter as directed on pkg, set aside. In medium bowl mix cream cheese, egg and sugar until well blended. Spoon cake batter into muffin cups, filling about halfway. Top each with about 1/2 tbsp of the cream cheese mixture and 1 mini cookie. Spoon more cake batter over the tops to cover the cream cheese and cookie. Bake 19-22 minutes, or until a toothpick insterted near center comes out clean. Let cupcakes cool in pans for about 5 minutes before removing to wire racks to cool completely. From the cupcakes with whipped topping and garnish each with a mini Oreo.
