1 cup vinegar
1 small bottle of red or green food coloring
syrup
2 cups vinegar, 2 cups water,10 cups sugar
8 cinnamon sticks 6 ounces of red hots

peel and slice 2 gallons of cukes if the cukes are large don't throw them peel and scoop out the seeds with a melon baller and then slice into rings mix 2 cups of lime and 8 1/2 qts of water pour over rings for 24 hours drain and rinse well then simmer in mixture for 2 hours drain pour hot syrup over cukes let stand overnite the next day drain heat syrup repeat 3rd day drain heat syrup put into jars and seal give a hot bath for 10 minutes

these are very attractive during the holidays on the table if you make red and green they are goregous on the holiday table well worth making at least one batch
