3/4c. plus 1 tsp sugar
1/2 cup warm water
2 Tbsp active dry yeast
1 cup butter flavored shortening
1 cup boiling water
1 cup cold water
4 eggs, beaten
2 tsp salt
8 cups all purpose flour

Directions:
Directions:
Dissolve one teaspoon of sugar in the 1/2 cup of warm water. Sprinkle the yeast over it, stir and set
aside. Blend shortening and remaining 3/4 cup sugar with the boiling water. Add cold water, yeast
mixture, eggs and salt; mix well. Let dough rise covered for one hour. Knead down dough and divide into thirds. Roll each third into a circle; cut into 12 wedges. Roll up each wedge crescent-roll style.

Cover and let rise for one more hour. Bake on ungreased baking sheets for 15 to 18 minutes. Makes 3 dozen.
