1 head red cabbage
1 large onion
salt, pepper, cayenne, nutmeg...to taste
1 T. water
3/4 c. vinegar
3/4 c. sugar
1 cube butter the size of an egg

Directions:
Directions:
Chop the cabbage and onion finely, then soak in water for 1 hour. Drain. Add seasoning, to taste. Add water, cover and cook slowly for 20 minutes. Add vinegar and sugar, then cook another 5 minutes. Add butter, cool, and serve. May be reheated.
