1 1/2 cups flour
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/2 cup softened margarine
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
10 oz jar maraschino cherries
6 oz package semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

In a large bowl, stir flour, cocoa powder, salt, baking powder, and baking soda. In separate mixing bowl, beat together margarine and sugar on low speed until fluffy. Add egg and vanilla, beat until well blended. Slowly add flour mixture.

Shape dough into 1 inch balls. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Press down center of dough with thumb to make indentation.

Drain cherries, reserve juice. Place a cherry in the center of each cookie.

In small saucepan combine chocolate pieces and sweetened condensed milk. Heat until chocolate is melted. Stir in 4 teaspoons of reserved cherry juice. Spoon 1 teaspoon of chocolate-cherry mixture over each cookie.

Bake for 10 minutes.
