8 pounds apples or pears, 2 Cups Cider, 2 Cups vinegar, 2 1/4 cup brown Sugar sugar, 2 tablespoon cinnamon, 2 tablespoon ground cloves.

Directions:
Cut up fruit in chunks and cook in cider and vinegar until very soft. Put through a sive or colander. Cook pulp with sugar and spices, stirring frequently. When fruit "mounds" on spoon without any liquid separating around edges. Put in hot jars and seal.
