2 cups sugar
2 cups raisins
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup crisco or butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup chopped walnuts
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1 teaspoon cinnamon
2 teaspoons baking soda
4 cups sifted flour

Directions:
Directions:
Boil raisins in 3 cups water for 10 minutes

Immediately add sugar, Crisco, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, nuts and vanilla.

Dissolve the baking soda in ½ cup hot water add to mixture

When cool add flour

Bake for 1 hour at 350 in greased and floured bread pans.
