Cinnamon Rolls Recipe

4 C. Water
1 C. Sugar
2 Tbsp. yeast
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1/2 C shortening
1/2 C butter, softened
2 tsp salt
about 12 C. flour
for FILLING

1 C. butter
2-3 C. brown sugar
2 tsp cinnamon

Directions:
Directions:
Soften yeast in warmed water. Add sugar, eggs, salt, shortening and butter to yeast mixture and blend. Add flour 2 cups at a time and knead in between. Knead until smooth. Let rise until double.
make filling: melt butter and add cinnamon and brown sugar to make a paste.
Punch down and roll out, spread paste on dough. Add raisins, nuts or chopped apples if you like. Roll and slice. Place on pans and allow to rise until double or more.
Bake at 350º, 25-30 minutes, until golden brown.
FROSTING: mix remaining sugar paste with about 2 C. powdered sugar, 1/2 tsp salt and 3Tbls. milk. Frost semi-warm rolls
