Cake:
1- 4 oz pkg German Sweet Chocolate
1/2 c boiling water
1 c margarine
2 c sugar
4 egg yolks
1 c buttermilk
1 t vanilla
2 1/2 c cake flour
1/2 t salt
4 egg whites, stiffly beaten
1 t baking soda

Frosting:
1 c evaporated milk
1 c sugar
3 egg yolks
1/2 c margarine
1 t vanilla
1 c coconut
1 c chopped pecans

Cake:
Melt chocolate in boiling water - cool. Cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Add egg yolks one at a time and beat. Add chocolate and vanilla - mix well. Add dry ingredients and milk alternately. Fold in egg whites. Bake in three, greased and floured, 8" cake pans at 350 degrees for 30-40 minutes.

Frosting:
Combine milk, sugar, egg yolks, margarine and vanilla in saucepan. Cook while stirring over low heat until thickened - about 12 minutes. Add coconut and pecans. Beat until thick enough to be spread. Only frost the tops of layers.
