1/2 lb butter/margarine
1/2 cup sugar
2 cups flour
1 cup chopped pecans
1 teaspoon vanilla
Powdered sugar (for rolling cookies in)

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter & sugar. Add flour, nuts & vanilla. Shape into crescents & bake in slow oven (300F) for 30 minutes or until turning brown. Roll in powdered sugar while still warm.

Sally: Baking cookies with Gram was an exercise in precision. Always sift the flour "just so", fill the measuring cup just overflowing, then level it "straight across", and follow that recipe step by step...verbatim! Clearly, she was not drinking wine.
