1 bag, (approximately. 2 #) frozen hash browns, thawed
2 cups grated cheddar cheese
2 cups (1 pint) sour cream
2 can cream of chicken or mushroom soup
1/2 cup sautéed chopped onion, if desired
salt and pepper to taste
2 cups corn flakes
1/2 cup melted butter

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine hash browns, cheese, sour cream, soup and onions. Season to taste. Put in 9 x 13 baking dish. Mix cornflakes and 1/2 cup melted butter. Sprinkle over potato mixture. Bake until browned, about 45 minutes.
