1 x 5lb bag flour
4 T salt
2/3 cup sugar
35 fluid oz warm water
4 T yeast
2/3 cup sugar
4 eggs
2/3 cup oil

Directions:
Directions:
In the mixer put the yeast, warm water and 2/3 cup sugar. Mix it with a spoon. Leave it for 10 - 15 minutes. When it's fermented, add the flour, salt, another 2/3 cup sugar, 4 eggs and 2/3 cup of oil. Turn the mixer on and mix for 10 - 15 minutes. Put the dough in a slightly oiled bowl covered with a bag and leave to rise for 1.5 hours. Braid ure challah's and egg them sprinkling on either sesame seeds, mon, garlic or zatar.

I always make my challah and freeze it straight away - even if I make it erev shabbos! For some reason it tastes and lasts much better from the freezer.
