1/2 cup Crisco (has to be Crisco)
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 egg
1/2 cup milk
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla

You may want to double this recipe since it has a "low profile"--skinny/flat.

Blend Crisco & sugar with mixer. Add egg. Alternate dry & liquid ingredients (begin & end with dry). Pour into 8x8 pan. Bake at 350º for about 30 minutes.
