1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. butter
2 1/2 c. packed brown sugar
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
2 eggs
2 1/2 c. flour
1 c. chopped pecans

Directions:
Directions:
With an electric mixer cream butter and shortening. add the brown sugar. baking soda and salt; beat until mixture is combined, scraping sides of bowl occasionally. Beat in eggs until combined. Beat in as much of the flour as you can with the mixer. Stir in remaining flour with a wooden spoon, Stir in pecans

Drop dough by rounded teaspoons about 2 inches apart onto greased cookie sheet. Bake in a 350º oven approximate. 12 min or until lightly browned and edges are set.
