1 c. strong coffee
1 c. butter
3 eggs
1 tsp. soda
1 c. grated chocolate or cocoa
2 c. sugar
3 c. flour
1 tsp. vanilla
Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter, sugar and add eggs 1 at a time. Add chocolate or cocoa. Add flour alternately with coffee. Add soda last, dissolved in a little hot water. Bake in layer pan for about 20 minutes or until cake separates from side of pan.

Icing:
Cream 2 Tbsp. of butter, add powdered sugar and a little coffee. Add sugar and coffee until you have used the last of powdered sugar. Add cocoa to suit taste and 1 tsp. vanilla.
