4 c. flour
1 c. shortening
1 average size chicken
1/8 pound butter
1 Tbsp. minced parsley
2 tsp. salt
Enough cold milk to make a stiff dough
1 small potato
pepper to taste

Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour and salt together. Mix flour with shortening. Add cold milk to make a stiff dough. Roll bottom crust about 1/8 inch thick. Place in earthenware dish. Cook chicken until tender. Remove meat and separate into small pieces. Place layers of chicken in. Slice very then one small boiled potato and place over chicken. Add salt, pepper, and minced parsley. Add another scant layer of chicken. Almost cover meat with chicken broth. Wet edge of crust and cover with strips 1/2 inch wide. Bake in moderate oven (375º) until brown.
