1 pint milk (scalded)
Add:
1/2 c sugar
1/2 c shortening
1 t salt
Let cool until lukewarm

Directions:
Directions:
Prepare 1 package of yeast in 1/2 cup warm water, and a little sugar. Let stand 10 minutes.
Add yeast to above mixture.
Add 1 c flour and beat until it bubbles.
Add 2 eggs (beaten), then add enough flour to make a stiff batter or dough.
Let rise until light and mix down. Let rise again, roll out and cut with a cutter.
Let rise and bake in moderate oven 15-20 minutes.
