1 pkg. yeast
1/4 c lukewarm water
1/2 c milk
1/4 c sugar
1/2 t salt
2 T shortening
1 egg (well beaten)
2 c sifted flour
1/2 c raisins
3 T chopped peel or mixed fruit

Topping:
3 T white sugar
1/4 t cinnamon
1 T chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Grease one 8 1/2 " ring mold.
Put yeast in lukewarm water, mix to dissolve.
Scald milk and add sugar, salt and shortening.
Cool to lukewarm.
Add well beaten eggs and dissolved yeast.
Add 1 cup flour, beat thoroughly.
Add raisins, peel, then rest of flour, mix well.
Turn mixture into greased mold and spread evenly.
Mix sugar, cinnamon and nuts and sprinkle on top.
Cover and let rise about 1 hours (until double in bulk).
Bake at 375 degrees for 30-35 minutes
