2 c boiled rice
2 to 3 T grated coconut
Salt to taste

Coconut jaggery mixture (for sweet dumplings): Mix 3T grated coconut and 3T grated jaggery (available in Indian stores) and a pinch of cardamom powder (3-4 pods).

Soak rice overnight; coarsely grind it using a blender or food processor adding salt and little water to form a soft dough. Add grated coconut and mix. Make small balls and steam for 15 minutes.
To make sweet dumplings, after grinding the rice, take a small ball of dough on your palm and flatten it. Put 2 tsp of coconut jaggery mixture on dough, and gently cover it to make a ball. Steam for 15 minutes.
