"As viscous as motor oil swirled in a swamp, redolent of burnt bell peppers nested in by incontinent mice and a finish reminiscent of the dregs of a stale can of Coca-Cola that someone has been using as an ashtray. Not a bad drink, though."--Excerpt from "The Moose Turd Wine Tasting" by T. A. Nonymous

½ tsp salt
1 ½ tsp vanilla
Peanut Butter (optional)
Chocolate chips

Directions:
Mix melted butter and oatmeal. Add brown sugar, syrup, salt, and vanilla. Take a portion of the dough and pack firmly onto well greased (non-stick) cookie sheet. Bake at 350-375 for about 7-10 min. (take out before it looks done.) Loosen edges and take off pan as soon as it’s moveable. I put it on a sheet of waxed paper. Spread with melted peanut butter if desired, and then with melted chocolate chips. Chill and break into pieces. Stores well in the freezer.
