One 32oz. bag hash browns, thawed (the "square" kind, not the shreds)
1/4 c melted butter
1 c cream of chicken soup
12 oz shredded cheese (save 1/2 for topping)
16 oz. carton sour cream
1 t salt
1/2 small onion, chopped (**see note)
TOPPING:
2 c crushed corn flakes
1/4 c melted butter
the 1/2 of the remaining cheddar

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º. Grease a 9x13 pan. Place thawed potatoes in pan. Mix the all the other ingredients together EXCEPT the "topping" ingredients and pour over the potatoes. Mix the corn flakes and butter and sprinkle on top of the potato mixture. Bake approximately 40 minutes or until the dish is bubbly, then add grated cheddar and bake 5 minutes more.
