1 can kidney beans (substitute black beans)
3 slices bacon cut up
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 cup chopped green pepper
1 cup uncooked regular white rice
1 1/2 tsp salt

Directions:
Directions:
Cook bacon in skillet until crisp. Add onion and green pepper. Cook and stir until onion is tender. Drain beans reserving liquid. If necessary add enough water to bean liquid to measure 1 1/2 cups. Add all ingredients in 3 quart saucepad. Heat to boiling and cook for 30 minutes.
