1 package yeast
1/2 cup lukewarm water
5 cup all purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 tb baking powder
2 tb honey
3/4 cup crisco
2 cup buttermilk

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400º. Proof the yeast by combining the lukewarm water, yeast and honey. Mix the dry ingredients together, cut in shortening. Add yeast and buttermilk and mix well. Turn dough onto floured surface and roll out to desired thickness (biscuits will rise further in the oven) Cut the biscuits and place on a greased baking sheet (see note below). Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.

When cutting biscuits do not turn the cutter side to side, this makes the biscuits tough. Push down in even stoke until cut through.
