1/2 cup butter/margarine
1 cup sugar
1 cup sour cream
2 cups flour, sifted
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon vanilla

Dry Mixture:
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
1 teaspoon cinnamon

Pre-heat oven to 350. Use an electric mixer--you'll need it--it's a stiff dough. Cream butter & sugar. Alternate adding the dry ingredients with the sour cream, beginning and ending with dry. Spoon half the dough into 8x8 or round baking pan. Sprinkle half the dry ingredients on top; then spoon the remaining dough; it's better to spoon small amounts of the dough around the pan, then spread it gently. Top with the remaining dry mixture. Bake for 45 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.
