2 eggs well beaten
2 cups sugar
1 cup lard
1 cup sour cream
1 Tsp baking soda
2 Tsp vanilla
1 Tsp baking powder
Enough flour to make a stiff dough

Directions:
Directions:
In a large bowl beat eggs, sugar, lard, sour cream, soda, vanilla and baking powder together. Add enough flour to make a stiff dough. Roll dough into 1/4" to 3/8" thick and cut out shapes.
Bake @ 350ºF until light brown on bottom. About 10-12 minutes.
Alternatives
Fig Filling: Run 1 cup of figs through food chopper. Cook with sugar and water (1/4 cup of each). Cook until thick - then cool
Date Filling: 2 cups chopped dates, 1 cup water, 1/2 cup sugar, 1 Tbsp. lemon juice. Cook a few minutes until thickens. Spread filling between two cookies.
