Dough:

2 pkg active dry yeast
2 c warm milk
1/2 c sugar
1/2 tsp salt
2 eggs, beaten
1/2 c shortening, margarine/butter
7 to 8 c flour.

Filling:

2 lb. ground beef
1 head cabbage (fully shredded)
lots of salt and pepper

Dough:

Put yeast and milk in bowl; set for 5 minutes; add sugar, salt, eggs and butter; mix. Gradually add flour till dough pulls together, into a ball. Knead until smooth. Put in greased bowl and let rise until double in bulk. Punch down and rise again. Divide into 3 rounds. Roll to 1/4 in. thick and cut into 5 in. to 6 in. pieces. Give each square an extra roll with rolling pin before filling.

Filling:

Brown beef, add cabbage, salt and pepper. Mound a large amount of filling on each square. Pull up opposite corners and pinch together and repeat. Turn over and put on cookie sheet to rise 15 minutes. Bake at 350º 15 to 20 minutes. Remove from oven and butter top.
