2 tbsp shortening
3/4 c sugar
2 well beaten eggs
3/4 c milk
1 tsp salt
5 tsp baking powder
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and sugar, add eggs; beat well. Stir dry ingredients, add milk and dry ingredients alternately. Chill dough 5 to 10 minutes. Roll on lightly floured surface to 3/8 in. thick. Cut with floured donut cutter or glass. Let them stand about 10 minutes. Fry at 375º. Drain on absorbent paper.
