Blueberry French Toast Recipe

12 slices bread, cut into 1" squares
2 - 8 oz. pkgs. cream cheese, sliced
1 c. fresh blueberries, rinsed and drained
12 large eggs
1/3 c. maple syrup
2 c. milk
Blueberry Syrup:
1 c. white sugar
2 T. cornstarch
1 c. water
1 c. fresh blueberries
1 tsp. butter

Directions:
Directions:
In a greased 9" x 13" pan spread half of the bread squares. Scatter cream cheese and blueberries. Cover with the rest of the bread. Mix together the eggs, milk and maple syrup. Pour mixture over bread. Cover and chill overnight. Bake at 350º covered for 30 minutes. Then, uncover and bake for 30 minutes more.
For syrup: Combine sugar, cornstarch and water in saucepan. Cook over medium heat for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Stir in berries and simmer for 10 minutes. Add butter, stir until melted. Serve warm.
