4 c. 2% milk or 3 c. 2% milk and 1 cup half and half
1 c. butter
1 c. flour
3/4 tsp. salt
1/4 c. sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Heat milk to scalding. Melt butter in microwave and stir in flour. Cook for 1 minute.
Stir in hot milk. Stir until smooth.
Cook 2 minutes at a time for a total of 4 minutes.
Add salt and sugar.
Cook 1 minute longer.

I make 1/2 recipe because it is easier to work with. Also a wire whisk works great.
