1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup butter or margarine
2 tbsp water
1 (29oz) can sliced peaches, drained
12-14 slices french bread (1 inch thick)
5 large eggs
1 1/2 cups milk
3 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Over med.-low heat, stir brown sugar and butter until melted. Add water and cook until sauce is thick and foamy (about 5 minutes). Pour into a 9x13 baking dish. Cool 10 minutes.
Place peaches on top of sauce. Cover with bread. Fit into one layer. Whisk eggs, milk and vanilla. Pour over bread. Cover and refrigerat overnight. Bake at 350 degrees, uncovered, 40 minutes or until set and golden. Cover with foil if browning too fast. Can serve with extra warmed peach syrup.
