1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. butter, softened
2 1/2 c packed light brown sugar
3/4 c creamy peanut butter
3/4 c chunky peanut butter
6 T. milk
2 T. vanilla
3 1/2 c all- purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp baking soda
1 1/2 tsp salt

Preheat oven to 375º In a medium bowl, cream together shortening, brown sugar and peanut butter until smooth. Stir in egg, milk, and vanilla. Combine flour baking soda, and salt; stir into the peanut butter mixture until well blended. Drop by rounded spoonful's onto ungreased cookie sheet. Press each ball with back of fork and sprinkle with sugar prior to baking. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 2 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
