Sift together:
4 cups flour
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp soda
1 tsp salt

Cream:
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup white sugar
1 cup shortening (can use part peanut butter)
1 cup applesauce

Add Raisins, peanuts, chocolate chips or coconut.
Grandma Dot uses raisins and peanuts.

Mix together. Bake at 350º on a greased baking sheet for 11-12 minutes.
