2 cups dry pinto beans
1 4 oz. can chopped green chili
2 tsp. chili powder
1 tsp salt
2 cloves garlic minced
4 2/3 cups water
1 lb ground beef (optional)
Monterey jack cheese
jalapenos

Directions:
Directions:
Cover beans with 6 cups of water. Soak overnight or bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover and simmer 2 minutes. Remove from heat, let stand 1 hour and drain. In same pan, combine drained beans, chili peppers, chili powder, salt, garlic and 4 2/3 cups water. Bring to boiling, reduce heat, cover and simmer 2 to 2 1/2 hours or until beans are slightly mushy. Top with shredded cheese and jalapenos.
