3 ½ Cup flour
½ teaspoon salt
1 lb orange slices (cut small)
1 package chopped dates
2 Cups nuts (prefer walnuts)
2 Cups coconut
1 Cup soft oleo
2 Cups sugar
4 eggs
1 teaspoon baking soda
½ Cup buttermilk

Directions:
Directions:
Combine coconut with ½ cup flour and set aside. Gradually mix oleo with sugar and beat well, add eggs one at a time. Then add baking soda and buttermilk, then add the rest of the flour and salt gradually. Add in the coconut/flour and mix well. Put into a greased and floured tube pan. Push batter down well in pan. Bake at 300º for 45 minutes to an hour.
