1 cup cornmeal
1 cup flour
2 tablespoons melted shortening
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup buttermilk
2 eggs
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup sour cream or buttermilk
1/2 teaspoon salt

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix cornmeal with flour, sugar and salt. Add shortening and eggs and beat well with electric mixer. Add baking soda and sour cream. Mix well by hand and turn into a greased 9-inch x 9-inch pan. Bake for 30 minutes.
