Directions:
Layer the chicken breasts on 9 x13 pan and cover Swiss cheese over the chicken. Mix the cream of chicken soup, water, sour cream, pour over the chicken and Swiss chesse. Crush the Ritz crackers and sprinkle on top. Bake for about 1 to 1 1/2 hours @ 350º.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
The baking times and temp has been changed. It was called to bake at 275 degrees for 2 1/2 hours and some of us have changed it to higher temps and shorter times to bake. Also it was normally called to put margarine on top of the casserole but none of us used margarine. It tasted great without it. - Sandra Davison

I have also added thin sliced ham on top of the chicken (under the swiss cheese) and this makes it tastes like a chicken cordon bleu casserole. - Serena Potter

Sarah Clawson has also developed a crockpot version of swiss chicken using chicken tenders. She cooks it on low for 6 hours in her crock pot. Then she puts the crackers on and puts just the creamic insert of the crockpot into the oven on high broil, until the crackers are toasted.

Suzy's Wrathall's family loves this over mashed potatoes. she serves it over barley or brown rice (for herself).
