8 cups chopped pears
2 large oranges, scrubbed well, cut into quarters and seeds removed
1 cup crushed pineapple
9 cups sugar
1 small bottle maraschino cherries, finely cut with reserved juice

Directions:
Directions:
Grind the oranges into a thick pulp. Mix all but cherries and let stand overnight in refrigerator. The next day, cook the ingredients slowly until it becomes a clear amber color and is thick. About 10 minutes before removing from heat, add cherries and reserved cherry juice.
