2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 teaspoons cinnamon
1 cup water
2 sticks margarine
4 tablespoons cocoa
1/2 cup buttermilk
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract


Icing:
1 stick margarine or butter, melted
4 tablespoons cocoa powder
1 box powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup chopped walnuts

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400 degree. Combine dry ingredients (flour through cinnamon). Mix. Combine water, margarine and cocoa and place in saucepan. Stir and bring to a boil. Pour over dry ingredients. Then add buttermilk, eggs and vanilla. Sir ingredients together. Pour into a jelly roll pan. Bake 10-15 minutes. Let cool before frosting.

Our dear friend Mary Bookenoogen gave me this recipe, and I use it at brandings. Everyone loves it because it is chocolate. Mary passed away in 1999 after a long bout with cancer. She was a wonderful friend.
