Personal Notes:
This makes a heavy, tasty cake. Nancy and I worked at Steinbeck House together for twenty years and she gave me this recipe. It makes a nice Christmas time hostess gift. Nancy was also one of my walking partners and we had many happy times with her. She passed away on October 9, 1994 - her birthday.
