7 cups water
1/4 cup chopped onions (1 whole medium)
1 tablespoon fresh parsley
1/4 cup olive oil

Add the following ingredients and simmer 30 more minutes:

2 teaspoons salt
1/2 pound fresh spinach
2 cups chopped fresh tomatoes
2 beef bouillon cubes
1/3 teaspoon sage
1 cup chopped cabbage
1/4 tablespoon Italian seasoning
1 cup elbow macaroni
1 teaspoon ground thyme
