2 c. diced onion
4 c. diced potatoes
1 to 1 1/4 c. diced ham
4 c. water
2 cans creamed corn
1 to 1 1/2 c. milk
1 T. sugar
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. salt

Directions:
Directions:
Cook onion, potatoes, ham, and water until potatoes and onions are done. Then add corn, seasonings and milk. Don't boil after milk is added, or it will curdle. To make the soup thicker, use part cream or evaporated milk. You can also substitute crumbled bacon for ham if desired.

This is my mother's recipe. I loved it growing up and it's also a favorite of my granddaughter Makayla who is a 6th grader at LC!
