1 c unsweetened cocoa
2 c boiling H2O
2 & 3/4 c sifted flour
2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 c softened butter
2 & 1/2 c sugar
4 eggs
1 & 1/2 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Combine cocoa, water & soda; mix with wire whip until smooth; then cool completely.
In separate bowl, mix dry ingredients.
In large bowl at high speed, mix butter, sugar & eggs, mix 5 minutes scraping sides occasionally.
Reduce speed to low, beat in flour in fourths, alternating with cocoa mixture in 3rds.
Do not over beat.
Divide evenly into pans.
Bake at 350º in 3, 9x 1&1/2 inch cake pans (round), for 25 to 30 minutes.
Cool completely.
Prepare filling:
1 c heavy cream
1/4 c powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla
Divide in half between layers.

Frosting:
1 pkg semi-sweet cho chips
1/2 c heavy cream
1 c butter
2 & 1/2 c powdered sugar
Melt choc chips, cream & butter in microwave, 1 to 2 minutes.
Beat in sugar until it holds it shape.
Frost cooled cake and refrigerate at least 1 hour.
