1 1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup shortening
2 eggs
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup sour milk (or buttermilk)
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon allspice
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon cloves
1/2 cup walnuts
1/2 cup raisins
12 cooked prunes, finely cut
1 teaspoon baking soda dissolved in hot water

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350.

Blend sugar and shortening, add eggs and milk. Sift flour with salt, allspice, cinnamon and cloves. Add to sugar mixture. Add walnuts, raisins and prunes. Add dissolved baking soda.

Bake in cake tins until done.
