2 c. all-purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
3/4 c. butter, room temperature
3/4 c. sugar
3 eggs, room temperature
1/2 c. orange marmalade
16 oz. mixed candied fruits
1 c. golden raisins
1/2 c. blanched almonds
1 egg white, slightly beaten
1/4 c. orange juice flavored w/ brandy

Preheat oven to 350º. Grease a 2" deep 8" cake pan and line with wax paper.

Sift together flour & baking powder into a medium size mining bowl. Cream the butter & sugar in a large bowl until light & fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, then marmalade. Gently fold in flour mixture. Stir in dried fruits & orange juice. Mix well. Pour into cake pan. Arrange almonds in a circular pattern around the top. Brush with egg white. Bake for 1 1/2 hrs at 350 degrees. Then reduce to 300 degrees & bake additional 45 minutes (or until inserted toothpick comes out clean). Cool in pan for 1 hr. Turn onto a wire rack. Serves 12.
