1 1/2 lbs. ground beef (or combination of beef and turkey)
1 large egg
1/2 cup Italian-style bread crumbs
1/2 cup ice water
1 large can tomato puree
1 jar stewed tomatoes
1 small can tomato paste
Basil and oregano to taste
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup red wine vinegar (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
1. Mix meat, eggs, and bread crumbs with ice water until very well mixed. Balance bread crumbs and water to get good consistency.
2. Form into balls (1 1/2 in.). Drop into boiling water and boil gently until they float. [Cook in batches.]
3. Mix all other ingredients in large pot. Add meatballs when cooked. Cover and simmer gently for 2 hours to blend flavors. Meatballs are even better the next day and they freeze well.
